Pope Paul VI

Pope Pavlus VI, after being met and hosted magnificently in Constantinopole (İstanbul) as he wanted to keep his promise, he visited Panaya Kapulu (House of Mary) in order to show respect to Madonna of Ephesus on 26th July, 1967. He entered into the House among the people shouting with joy and prayed in front of the altar of the Lady of Ephesus for a long time. He burnt a bronze candlestick he brought, with an apostolic seal on it.
