Mary Ascended into Heaven

Ascencion of Mary, after she completed her lifespan on Earth, both with her body and soul taking place in heaven is a teaching. This Catholic teaching, is declared by Pope Pius XII on 1st November,1950 through Munificentissimus Deus Apostolic, an apostolic announcement.

“Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her erthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death.(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 966)

“When some apostles and countless holy women were saying prayers and singing hymns in contemplation in the garden which was in front of the hidden cave suddenly I saw along with three chorus of angels a cortege of victorious angels which was formed by a cloud of spirits: Jesus Christ, in a dense bright light with his holy wounds was standing beside the most blessed Mary’s soul. Chorus of angels were of small children and as they appeared in a large light form they all looked like each other. However I saw when from the abyss of the Holy Tomb, soul of the Blessed Virgin follow immage of Jesus Christ, together they went down the hill and just after that in a living light river next to the Lord in the glory of other angels her Body rose up to Heavenly Jerusalem.” (Revelations of Anna Katharina Emmerick)

“You preserved your virginity in your motherhood, you didn’t leave the world when you fell asleep, oh Mother of God; you gave a body to the living God, you reached the fountain of Life and with your prayers you will save our souls from death.” (Feast of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in the Byzantine Liturgy)
